Don’t miss the opportunity to learn a language that will open the doors to a new world: the Italian Sign Language (LIS) workshop offered by SSML Carlo Bo will enable you to acquire the skills necessary to approach the deaf community and their culture. Through a theoretical-practical approach, the course aims to provide a basic knowledge of any issues related to interaction and communication with deaf people, with particular attention to linguistic, social and anthropological aspects.
The skills acquired during the course will be valuable for different work contexts and for being able to make your contribution to promoting inclusion processes by overcoming any communication barriers.
Course Objectives
- Acquire basic proficiency in the Italian Sign Language (LIS) equal to level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
- Deepen knowledge of the culture and history of deaf communities.
- Develop visual-gestural communication skills through the use of the body and space (kinesics and proxemics)

- Start date: 12 February 2025.
- Duration: 48 hours, every Wednesday from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm
- Location: In-person lectures at the SSML Carlo Bo campus in Bologna.
